Mary Frances (Newton) Koetter, 72, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2012. A long-time member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Starlight, Indiana, she was co-owner of Koetter Woodworking, Inc. in Borden. Unsurpassed in humility, generosity, kindness, integrity, and genuineness, Mary Frances was a living example of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, team member, friend, and neighbor. Selflessly devoted to her family and community, she touched the lives of many people.
Mary Frances was born on August 29, 1940 in Marion County, Kentucky to the late Francis X. and Elenora (Donahue) Newton. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Larry, Wayne, and Tony Newton.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Thomas C. Koetter, Sr.; sons, Randy (Sis), Rick (Shirley), Jerry (Trisha), Brian (Sarah), and T.J. (Lisa) Koetter; brothers, Michael Newton (Sharon); sisters, Jane Wiseman, Carol Smith (Allen), Kate Lasley (Randy), Helene Hart (Ken), Rita Becht (Chuck), Joan Dohoney (Jack); and sisters-in-law, Pam, Joyce, and Donna Newton.
Treasured by her grandchildren, they are: Amy Pennington (Seth), Brittany Pennington (Ryan), Casey Bickers (Mark), Brandon Koetter, Shane Koetter (Kramer), Shana Orman, Courtney Jenney, and Dakota, Chase, Skyler, Mason, Emily, Molly Frances, Garrett, Alexis, and Whitney Koetter; and great grandchildren, Sadi, Emme, Parker, and Pierce Pennington, Harley, Noah, and Reese Koetter, and Zane White.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 PM Friday, October 12, 2012 and 9 to 11:30 AM on Saturday at the Forest Discovery Center at Koetter Woodworking, Inc. (533 Louis Smith Road, Borden, IN 47106). Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (8310 St. John's Road, Floyds Knobs, IN 47119) with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) is in charge of the arrangements.
