Mary Evelyn Cooper

Mrs. Mary Evelyn Marcum Cooper (nee Crecelius), age 89 passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2011. She was member of the Eastern Star, and was formerly employed by JCPS and Behr's Dress Shop. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Cooper and his son Steven, and by her youngest son Walter V. Marcum, who was a Vietnam War hero, sisters, Lilly, Bernice and Aretta and a brother, Walter.

Mrs. Cooper is survived by her children, Robert Marcum and Betty Cotton (Bill Roberts); sisters, Martha "Cat" Merrifield and Jean Philpott. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

Funeral ceremony will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 14, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown with visitation there from 1-5pm Sunday and after 10:00 am Monday until time of service. Memorials may be made to Hosparus or Alzheimers Research.
