Mary Ellen Constant

Mary Ellen Constant passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, in Shelbyville, Kentucky. She was born on October 1, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of Mary Ellen Elder and Edward John Kaelin. Mary Ellen was a remarkable individual whose kindness and dedication shaped the lives of those around her.

Mary Ellen graduated from Presentation Academy, and went on to earn an associate's degree in Business and Human Resources, which paved the way for her successful career as a Human Resource Director. In her later years, she was employed as a Customer Service Associate at Costco, until her retirement in 2019. Her professionalism and commitment to her work were evident throughout her career, earning her the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.

Known for her fashionable style and sophisticated demeanor, Mary Ellen took great pride in her appearance and loved reflecting her personality through fashion. She was honest, hard-working, and invested in the well-being of those around her. Most importantly, she cherished the moments spent with her family.

Mary Ellen is survived by her loving family, including her son, Tony “Ice” Allen, her sisters, Jeanie (Kenny) Gilliland; Patricia M (Warren) Wright and Linda M Weiss (Wise Hillenmeyer); her brother, John Edward (Lori) Kaelin, her brother-in-law, David Burch; and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 20+ years, Clark Spencer Constant; her sister, Ann Elizabeth Burch; and her nephews James G Burch and Kenneth D Gilliland III.

Mary Ellen Constant will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her dedication to family, and her unwavering kindness. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
