Mary Alice Miles

Mrs. Mary Alice Miles was born into the union of George W. Blades and Mamie Bell Wayne Blades on July 24, 1932 in Henry County, Eminence, Kentucky. She departed this life on October 25, 2010 at 5:12 p.m., Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville, Kentucky. She was married to the late Joe Roberts and to this union two sons and two daughters were born. Later she united in marriage with R.C. Miles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Anthony Roberts, two sisters Joyce Etta Blades and Sarah B. Blades, and one nephew Vincent M. Blades.
She joined First Baptist Church in Eminence, Kentucky at an early age and was a faithful member. She was a VBS Worker, member of the Altar Guild, Missionary and Zone #4 church group.

To cherish her memory she leaves a devoted and loving husband, R.C. Miles; two daughters, Sharon Roberts and Rosalind Roberts of Shelbyville, Kentucky; one son, Larry L. Roberts; one step-daughter, Angela Miles of Louisville, Kentucky; one step-son, Roderick Miles of Shelbyville, Kentucky; two sisters, Dorothy Watson of Eminence, Kentucky and Shirley Mumphrey (Rudolph) of Louisville, Kentucky; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral ceremony will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 29, 2010 at First Baptist Church, 5706 South Main Street, Eminence, Kentucky with visitation there from 9 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in New Castle, Ky. Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive is entrusted with arrangements.
