Marvin was in the United States Army, having been inducted on October 3, 1966, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He bravely served during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany before receiving an honorable discharge on September 14, 1968. His military service remains a significant highlight of his life, reflecting his commitment to service and duty.
Professionally, Marvin worked as a welder with notable employers including Goodyear, Tube Turners, and Munich. His skilled craftsmanship and strong work ethic earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike. Outside of work, Marvin had an infectious enthusiasm for life and maintained a youthful spirit, described by many as having always been a kid at heart. His love for sports, passion for history, and working on cars were among the many interests that shaped his personality and made him a delightful companion.
Marvin is survived by his son, Josh Burns; his grandchildren, Megan and Ethan; and his great-granddaughter, Isabel. He also leaves behind his brothers, George R. (Elizabeth) Burns and David Burns, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins who will hold onto his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin L. Burns, Sr. and Lois Isabel Sarba; his brother, Sheldon Burns; and his sister, Pam Sandford. Their absence is felt deeply, but Marvin's legacy will endure through the family and friends he leaves behind.
