Martin Pelayo

Martin O. Pelayo, 74, Clarksville, Indiana passed away on December 10, 2011. A U.S. Army veteran, Martin retired from the U.S. Naval Ordnance Station in Louisville. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family and grandkids.
Martin was born on January 30, 1937 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Juan and Idolina (Flores) Pelayo. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Emmett Pelayo.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Darlene (Priddy) Pelayo; sons, Marty Pelayo (Camille) of Clarksville, Mike Pelayo (Shawna) of Pekin, Indiana; brother, Joe Pelayo (Janie) of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Michelle Pelayo (Brent Lienhart), Martin, and Michael Pelayo, Lindsay Ball (Trent), and Dustin Whitaker; and great grandchildren, Kyleigh Lienhart and Sydney Ball.
His memorial visitation will be from 12 to 8 PM on Wednesday, December 14 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150). There will be storytelling and sharing of memories at 6 pm that evening. Cremation was chosen by the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sara Cannon Cancer Research Institute (3322 West End Avenue, Suite 900, Nashville, TN 37203.
