Martin Dean Brown

Martin Dean "Marty" Brown, a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather, peacefully passed away on May 23, 2023, at the age of 81, due to complications of Alzheimer's disease.

Marty is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sarah (Lanier) Brown, and he leaves behind a loving family, including his daughters Missy Helderman (Randy) from Dubois, and Cyndi Kingery (Gary) from Floyds Knobs; and son Bill Brown (Melissa) from O'Fallon, Illinois. In addition, he was a proud grandfather to Jessica, Trevor, Tristin, and Logan. Marty is also survived by his three siblings, Janet Blessing, Linda Chaney (Mike), and Wes Brown (Robin); as well as his nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

His quick wit and playful spirit warmed the hearts of his family and friends, making a lasting impact on all those around him. Marty's legacy of love and unwavering devotion will forever live on in the hearts of his wife, children, grandchildren, and those fortunate enough to know him. While his absence will be deeply felt, the impact on our lives will continue to inspire and guide us.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a celebration of his life taking place at 4:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to attend and share their stories and memories of a remarkable man.
