Martha Lee Southers was born February 18, 1954 in Burkesville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Haskell Craft and Willie Mae Craft-Stone.
Martha attended Adair County High School in Adair County, Kentucky.
In 1984, she became a licensed cosmetologist in the state of Ohio, where she resided for more than 20 years. Martha had a knack for fashion and beauty, and dreamed of becoming a model. To realize her dream, she attended Barbizon Modeling School where she graduated in 1986. As a hard-worker and "Jane" of all trades, she worked many years as a cosmetologist, nurse's assistant and school bus driver. In 2005, Martha returned to her home state of Kentucky, where she lived in the city of Louisville.
Martha epitomized strength, perseverance, and determination. Whatever she desired, she pursued with passion and purpose. She was a loyal, loving and caring person, who had a way with words that would make any person laugh. She loved music and had a green thumb. Her favorite flower was a rose. Martha especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and entertaining her family and friends.
