Marsha Ann Miller

Marsha Ann Miller, aged 69, passed away on August 22, 2024, in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on November 30, 1954, in Decatur, Illinois to Thomas and Jessie Miller. She was raised on a small farm in Sorento, Illinois where she decided as a young girl she would never eat chicken! 

Marsha graduated from Greenville High School, Greenville, Illinois, in 1972. Later, she attended the University of Louisville graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2008.

Marsha was an independent, strong, single working mother who was always excited for the new adventures of life. She followed in her mother's footsteps, becoming a wizard in all things related to arts and crafts, and mirrored her father's wit and silly sense of humor. 

She worked with the C&I family for 33 years starting as an Engineering Tech eventually moving to the IT department were she became Manager. She built long-lasting friendships and enjoyed walking with her girlfriends, Joy, Joann and Doris. The 4 of them traveled all over the South and Midwest to participate in various mini marathons. She loved all things chocolate and was never one to pass up on dessert. 

After retiring, she bought an RV with plans to travel to all the major United States National Parks. Her first RV stop was her greatest trip and joy, to see her first granddaughter. She lived vicariously through Millie, watching videos and looking at her pictures every moment she could. 

Marsha is survived by her two children, Natasha Ann (husband Seva) Miller of Los Angeles, CA, and James Thomas Miller of Champaign, IL; one grandchild, Miller Ann Kostelanetz; and two sisters, Melinda (husband Albert) Duffel and Theresa (husband Sev) Keil. She was preceded in death by her two parents.

A time to celebrate Marsha's life will take place on Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am EST at Newcomer, East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Drive). Family and friends are invited to share memories of Marsha starting at 10:45 that morning until the close of the service. A committal service will take place on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at 2:00 pm CST at Kirkland Cemetery in Sorento, Illinois.
