Mark E. Francis

Mark E. "Farkle" Francis, 63, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023. He was born on August 2, 1960 in New Albany, Indiana.

Mark is survived by his wife of 18 years, Nancy Francis; parents, Frank and Sue Francis; son, Evan Francis, step-daughters, Jasmine (Daniel) Ranger and Ashley (Daniel) Avila; and step-granddaughters, Isabella and Alarabeth.

Mark was employed by Amatrol as a Mechanical Assembly Technician. He enjoyed working with his hands. His vision and insight made way for him to introduce concepts and ideas for process enhancement in his work. Simply put Mark was curious, inquisitive and a tinkerer.

His long-term passion for education, music and literature was insatiable.
His big smile, rolling laughter and engaging personality won him many a friend. He was a gentle giant.

It comes as no surprise that Mark was an organ donor. Ironically, even though Mark was unable to be with us long enough to receive a new heart, he gave from himself so someone else could live a better life. Mark was a giver in so many ways.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN). His Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 pm on Sunday, at the funeral home.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Mount St. Francis (101 St. Anthony Drive, Mt. St Francis) by the pond, at 1:00 p.m. Hawaiian shirts will be proper attire to honor Mark at the Gathering.
