Mark Douglas Fanning, Sr., 68, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022. He had a lifelong career in roofing and enjoyed going on vacations, which included cruises, all inclusives, and visiting National Parks. Mark also enjoyed fishing, golfing, and playing cards.
He was born on November 17, 1953, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to the late James and Frances (Byrnes) Fanning. In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael and Larry Fanning.
Mark is survived by his wife, Rose (Tuell) Fanning; children, Mark Fanning, Jr. (Dana), Karen Waldron, Michael Terry, Jr. (Cortney), Hope Bell (Kirk Franklin), and Christina Cobb; siblings, Roger Fanning (Bonita), David Fanning (Ramona), and Julie Nowroozi (Ali); grandchildren, Mariah Waldron, Ashley Mouser (Quinton), Kamaya Franklin, Kenneth Ramey, Jr., Sean Bell, Steven Bell, Hallie Anderson, Lucy Anderson, Jedd Fogel, Kayla Fogel, Brighton Tucker, and Anthony Tucker; and great-grandchildren, Ray Mouser, and Brantley, Kylar, and Meadow Ramey.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his funeral service taking place at 3:00 p.m. Cremation will follow according to Mark's wishes.
