Mark E. Bishop, 64, of New Albany passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Green Valley Care Center. Mark graduated from New Albany High School in 1965, went on to graduate from Indiana University, and was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Floyds Knobs, Indiana. He was a quality manager for over 20 years at Paramount Plywood and also worked at E.M. Cummings.
Mark was born on January 2, 1947 in New Albany to the late Delbert and Lois (Knoke) Bishop.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Cindy (Elliott) Bishop; daughter, Ashley L. Bishop of Atlanta, Georgia, son, Brad Damron and his wife, Jill, of Greenwood, Indiana; brothers, Matt Bishop and his wife, Barbara, of New Albany, Tom Bishop of Lanesville, Indiana; grandchildren, Blayze Damron of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Teagan Damron of Lumberton, Texas, Kayden and Darby Damron, both of Greenwood.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 PM on Tuesday, February 8 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150). His Funeral Service will be at 1:30 PM on Wednesday in the Paul F. Kraft, Sr. Memorial Chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
