Marjorie Helen Taylor, 94, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023.
She was born on December 22, 1928 in New York, New York to the late Elizabeth (Kreke) Klein. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank H. Taylor, Jr., brother, Paul Klein, granddaughter, Angela Taylor and grandson, Eric Brandon Taylor.
Marjorie was a fountain of knowledge. She was a docent at the Speed Art Museum for many years where she especially enjoyed instructing the children in the love of art. She was an avid gardener with a green thumb, enjoyed traveling, and reading. As Marjorie would say, "I do not want to be a know-it-all, but I want to be a learn-it-all."
She spent the last 2 years at the Nazareth Home of Clifton where she was given wonderful care by the staff. Although her body was confined to a chair or bed, her mind continued to be sharp and she looked for an opportunity to have a conversation with anyone who would listen.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Richard Taylor (Gulsen), Mark Taylor (Debbie), Eric Taylor (Janet), John Taylor (Annette), JoAnn Johnson, Teresa Karem (Wayne) and Nancy Taylor; 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the time of mass at 11:00 am on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Epiphany Catholic Church (914 Old Harrods Creek Road, Louisville, KY 40223) with burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions in Marjorie's memory be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
