Mariquita T. (Arroyo) Richmer, 84, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014.
Mariquita was born on November 4, 1929 in Iloilo City, Philippines to the late Dr. Mariano & Lolita (Vasquez) Arroyo. She was a Cytotechnologist and had a passion for finding a cure and helping prevent all types of cancer. Mariquita was very proud to be internationally certified in this field. She was a past president of Fil-Am Society and a 22 year member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Edward H. Richmer; daughter, Anne Walsh (Bob); son, Chris Tuell (Wendra); grandchildren, Erin Billingsley (Michael), Jessica Walsh, Jennifer Tuell, Nicholas Tuell, Danielle Tuell, & Anna Tuell; great-grandchildren, Thurgood & Harper Billingsley. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, William Tuell; husband, Hubert Tuell; sister, Remedios Legaspi; brother, Dr. Manuel Arroyo.
Visitation will be from 1 PM to 8 PM Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN). Her Funeral Mass will take place at 11 AM on Friday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (1752 Scheller Lane, New Albany, IN) with burial to follow at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Elizabeth, IN. A Rosary Service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday at 7:30 PM.
