Marilynn Jo Maxwell

March 7, 1934 — September 18, 2023

Marilynn Jo Maxwell, 89, of La Grange, Kentucky, formerly of Grants Pass, Oregon, passed away peacefully in her home, clutching a picture of Jesus, and surrounded by family on Monday, September 18, 2023.

She was born on March 7, 1934 in Phoenix, Arizona. Marilynn spent her life caring for and loving family and friends. She was an artist, specifically enjoying Tole Painting. Marilynn also enjoyed gardening and taking care of animals (including a close call with the law for rescuing a baby deer whose mother had been hit on the highway). She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, calling her 14 plus acre Oregon property "Camp Grandma" on which she had a trail marker with every grandchild's name on it.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Maxwell; step-son, Michael Maxwell and his wife Annie; mother and father, George and Clara Telfair; and her biological parents, Edward Kennedy and Myrtle Palmquist.

Marilynn is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Daniels; son, Kurtis T. Daniels (Claudia); daughter, Debra Signorello (Richard); son, Monty Johnston (Stacy); grandchildren, Naomi, Caroline, Lauren, Mark, Rachel, Timothy, Anna, Nathanael, Stephen, and Matthew; great grandchildren, Justin, Caleb, Gabriel, Aubrey, Amari, Finnegan, Piper, and Evangeline; and great great grandson, Silas.

Her Memorial Service will be at Covenant Church (909 W Jefferson Street, La Grange, KY 40031) on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 4:00 PM. A dinner reception will follow.

The family requests that contributions in lieu of flowers be made to WaterStep, where she was well known as "The Shoe Queen" or Hosparus Health.
