Marilyn G. (Goewert) Mennemeyer, 74, of New Albany, Indiana passed away Friday morning, June 18, 2010. Marilyn retired from Ford Motor Company in Louisville after 20 years. She was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Albany. Marilyn was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, friend, and neighbor whose sense of humor and hospitality comforted everyone.
Marilyn was born on November 14, 1935 in Breese, Illinois to the late Sylvester and Isabelle (Voss) Goewert. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Junior Mennemeyer and grandsons, Michael Parsons and Steven P. Mennemeyer.
She is survived by daughters, Beverly Parsons and her husband, Mark of Lanesville, Lisa Brown and her husband, Doug of Corydon, Sandy Winstead and her husband, Bob of Lanesville; sons, Steve S. Mennemeyer and his wife, Maria Granger and Gary Mennemeyer and his wife, Denise all of New Albany; grandchildren, Sarah White (Zach), Drake Wallingford, Keri Crutcher (Shane), Shana Heishman (Casey), Ashley Faith (Chris), Matthew Mennemeyer, Amanda, Aimee, Amber, Annie, Jonathan and Chelsea Parsons, Marianne Brown and Katie and Noah Winstead; great-grandchildren, Andrew Mennemeyer, Cooper Crutcher and Kennedy Heishman.
The visitation will be 1 PM to 8 PM Monday, June 21, 2010 and after 9 AM on Tuesday at Generations Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana) with a Rosary Service at 3 PM on Monday. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Albany with entombment at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
