Marilyn Jane (Mitchell) Conley, 74, of New Albany passed away on Monday, July 5, 2010.
Marilyn was a member of the Elks' Club Auxiliary in New Albany. Family was most important to her, and she placed the highest priority in being present for her family. Marilyn was a great listener to her family and friends, and she enjoyed dancing immensely.
Marilyn was born on February 21, 1936 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Rollin Mitchell, Sr., and Zenobia (McCracken) Mitchell. She is also preceded in death by her son, Jesse C. Conley, Jr.; brother, Rollin, Robert "Bobby", Stillman, Weldon, and Zachary Mitchell; and sisters, Zetta Stanton and Zona Mae Wilson.
She is survived by her children, Zonia Cousins and her husband, Raymond, Steven Conley, Zida Conley, Zetta Conley, all of New Albany; her only surviving sibling, Zida Hudson; grandchildren, Jason Conley and his wife, Amber, Zayna Means, Ryan Witherspoon, Zonia, Alona, Joshua, Michael, Chessidy, Jamar, and China Conley; great grandchildren, Javontae Sanders, Michael Conley, Jr., Joshua Conley, Nariah Stout, Malachi Ware, and Christian Martinez; sister-in-laws, Catherine, Christina and Lucille Mitchell; and many nieces, nephews, and friend.
The visitation will be 11 AM to 1 PM Friday, July 9, 2010 at Howard Chapel Baptist Church (1715 East Market Street, New Albany). The Funeral Service is at 1 PM on Friday at the church. Newcomer Funeral Home – Southern Indiana (formerly Generations Funeral Home at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana) is in charge of the arrangements.
