The gates of heaven opened to receive a beautiful soul on Monday, June 17, 2024.
Marie Violet Rosser (Eversole) was born March 11, 1941, in Louisville, KY to Robert James Eversole and Edith Marie Eversole (Gagel). She was the second oldest of six children, Robert (Robbie), Marie (Sissy), James (Jim), Diane, Hugh Richard (Dink), and Denise. Marie was always "Sis" or "Sissy" to the family. She graduated in 1959 from Valley High School in Louisville, married Tom Rosser and had a baby girl, Cindy Marie, and went on to experience many career paths of her choosing and accomplish much in life.
Marie was a high achiever. She was unstoppable and always met a challenge head on, and even welcomed it. Hardships only made her stronger and the word "can't" was never in her vocabulary. Marie had a big personality with a big smile and could not be missed. She was fun and feisty and would not be ignored. Marie was fierce. She was a fierce follower of Christ, a fierce mom (single mom), fiercely independent, a fierce competitor and a fierce worker always at the top of her game. Marie grabbed life with gusto. She saw life as a gift not to be wasted but to be fully experienced. Marie had many passions in life. She was passionate about our Creator and all of creation. God first, her daughter second, then all of nature, especially animals and plants.
Marie was passionate about her family, neighbors and friends, even strangers, and was generous to a fault. Especially when it came to helping others with their gardens and pets and giving to someone in need. Marie was the quintessential "I am woman!" She was strong and invincible and could do anything. Marie instilled all of her core values in her only child, her "baby girl." She would say that her greatest accomplishment was her daughter, and that it was never a hardship raising her alone.
Marie's greatest career achievement was going to nursing school at age 53 and graduating two years later (1996) with her RN from Jefferson Community College. She was a tough nurse and an excellent one and expected no less than excellence from her coworkers and those under her charge. Marie was a fighter and a survivor. She never complained. Even after brain surgery in 2003, she was back on her feet and at home in five days and back at work in five weeks. Unstoppable!
Marie died after a three-year battle with Alzheimer's disease in a brief, beautiful moment, comfortable in her own home in her recliner, with her loving and devoted daughter's arms around her. With big bright eyes she reached up for heaven and went home with Jesus where she always wanted to be. In heaven at the Rainbow Bridge! Marie fought the good fight. She ran the race and won the ultimate prize of glory with our Father in Heaven. Marie will always be loved and missed by a host of family of friends, especially her "baby girl." She leaves a legacy of love.
