Marie Antoinette Renyer (Toni) May, age 81 of Louisville, passed away Sunday at her home with her loving family by her side. She was a devoted Catholic and taught many years at St. Raphael, St. Barnabas and Ascension Catholic Schools. She retired in 1987 from Price Elementary and the Jefferson County School System. Marie was an excellent seamstress and homemaker. She loved to play the piano and travel. She cherished her winters in St. Petersburg's Florida with her loving husband, Bob. There she was the Queen of Bingo, line dancing and water aerobics. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mary Mylor and Harry Renyer and her sister, Mary Lou Rider.
Mrs. May is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Bob; son, Robert Christopher May (Norma); daughters, Elizabeth Hileman (William), Debbie Dougherty (Joseph) and Beverly Greenwell. Also surviving are seven Grandchildren, Carrie Doimer (Adam), Chris May (Greta), Danielle Greenwell, Vince Dougherty, Kimberly Dougherty, Richard May, Kathryn (Katie Bug) Hileman; two Great-grandchildren, Taylor Renee and Allison Marie Doimer.
A celebration of Mrs. May's life will be Noon, Thursday, August 13, 2009 at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 2141 Lancashire Avenue, with interment to follow in Middletown Cemetery. Visitation will be noon to 8pm Wednesday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive in Louisville.
