Marian Pedicone

May 3, 1927 — April 11, 2019

Marian Pedicone, 91, of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019.

She was born on May 3, 1927 in Newport, Kentucky to Stephen and Caroline (Ortlieb) Krebs. She is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Alfred Joseph Pedicone, Sr.; her sister, Bernice Krebs; and her grandson, Stephen Merritt.

She is survived by: her son, Alfred Joseph Pedicone, Jr.; her daughter, Adele (Pat) Murphy; her son, Stephen (Jill Soete) James Pedicone; her five grandchildren: Sara Murphy, Cameron Murphy, Kellen Murphy, Blake Soete, and Allie Soete; her great granddaughter, Reagan Sally; her two sisters: Elaine Krebs and Beatrice (Fritz) Dickhaus; and her brother, Stephen (Gerry) Krebs.

Marian Krebs Pedicone was progressive, stylish, glamorous, and independent. She started dancing professionally at age sixteen, and after graduating from Notre Dame Academy she left her hometown for the bright lights of places like Las Vegas, New York, and Chicago. It was in the Windy City that she met the love of her life, Alfred Pedicone. Theirs was a match made in heaven, and together they gave life to three beautiful children. Sadly, Alfred passed away at the age of thirty-nine. Marian came home to Northern Kentucky to raise their three toddlers, all under the age of four years. Marian's life had bumps in the road, but to this "glass is half full" person, the salt, at least in her mind, was far outweighed by the sweet. Marian cherished her family, including her beloved dogs. A steadfast Catholic, Marian had a devout faith in Christ that never wavered. Anyone who knew Marian felt welcome in her presence. Even as her life's journey was nearing its end and her earthbound body's strength was fading, to the very end, she could smile, hug, kiss you, and let you know that you were loved. Marian loved music, especially Frank Sinatra, but her favorite song was by Nat King Cole, a song that will always describe how Marian's loved ones feel about her… "Unforgettable, in every way, and forever more, that's how you'll stay."

A celebration of Marian's life will be Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Mother of God Catholic Church in Covington, Kentucky. Visitation will start at 10 am with a mass beginning at noon and a reception to follow at the church.

The family would like to make it known that contributions in Marian's memory may be made to Notre Dame Academy, 1699 Hilton Dr., Park Hills, KY 41011 or Brighton Center,
741 Central Avenue, Newport, KY 41071.
