Marian Knox Webb

January 11, 1918 — January 13, 2013

Marian Knox Webb, 94, of Louisville, passed away peacefully at home January 13, 2013, lovingly attended by her daughter, Carol and her granddaughter, Jennifer, both registered nurses.

Born in Mancos, Colorado, she grew up in Dallas, Texas where she met and married the love of her life, Thomas Warner Webb. They lived in Kansas, Tennessee, Nebraska, and Texas before retiring to Cherokee Village, Arkansas and later Tulsa, Oklahoma. Wherever they lived, they were active in their local Methodist church and Marian was a devoted "Pink Lady" hospital volunteer for many years at numerous Methodist hospitals.
Marian and Tom loved traveling together and they made annual visits to their far flung children and grandchildren and friends until Tom's death in 2001, just four months short of celebrating what would have been their 65th wedding anniversary.

Before macular degeneration took its toll of her eyesight, Marian was an accomplished seamstress and crafts person. She won a first prize at the Kansas State Fair for embroidery, and her counted cross-stitch creations are treasured possessions of her children and grandchildren.

Marian was an avid reader and liked nothing better than "talking books" with her family and her many friends at Brownsboro Park, an independent living community, where she enjoyed living for the last eight years of her life.
Marian is survived by her three children and their spouses: Betty Hall (Frank), Tom Webb, Jr. (Nancy) and Carol Moore (Steve). She will also be much missed by her four grandchildren: Jennifer Hall, Sarah Hall Johnson, Thomas Webb III (Becky); and Nicholas Moore. Marian also leaves three great-grandchildren: Johnny Webb Johnson and Zachary Lee Johnson, and Ryan Thomas Webb.
Nana, we will miss you.

A memorial Celebration of Life service will be held for family and friends at Brownsboro Park, 2960 Goose Creek Road, Louisville, Kentucky at 3:00 pm on Thursday, January 17, 2013. In lieu of flowers, Marian requested that donations be made in her name to The Salvation Army or Louisville Educational Television – KET.
