Maria Torres

Maria Torres, 82, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024. Maria enjoyed cooking, taking care of others, and spending time with family and friends. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed to spoil them all.

She was born on March 9, 1942 in Mexico City, Mexico. Maria spent her life taking care of others and she was proud to be a Certified Nursing Assistant. She is preceded in death by her son, Frank (Becky) Torres, II; her parents; and her brothers and sisters.

Maria is survived by her loving husband, Frank Torres; children, Dan (Tricia) Torres, Dave Torres, Hermelinda Ybarra, Fausto (Carmen) Ybarra, and Eddie Torres; grandchildren, Frank (Brea), Greg (Brianne), Maria (Logan), Marleigh (Michael), Carmyn (Jared), Branson and several other grandchildren and great grandchildren residing in Mexico.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the funeral home.

The family requests that contributions in Maria’s memory be made to Wounded Warriors.
