Margit Evelyn Abrams, 75, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on November 16, 2022 at Norton Women's and Children's Hospital. She was born May 26, 1947 to Virgel Guy and Augustine Anna Troxell in Mainburg, Germany.
Margit was one of the first graduates of Westport High School, Class of 1965. She went on to attend the University of Louisville and achieved her Bachelors, Masters, and Rank 1. She was a special education teacher at Churchill Park School of Jefferson County Public Schools for 27 and a half years. In her career, she impacted countless young lives through education. She married the love of her life, Michael Abrams, on March 15, 1974, and raised three daughters, Michelle, Marlo, and Melanie. She was noted as the "best cook in the nation" by her family. She was an artist, gardener, and caregiver for her students. She was a strong "lady" and was known as a giver and did so her whole life.
Margit is preceded by her father, Virgel Guy; her grandparents, August and Maria Linner. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband of 48 years, Michael Abrams; her mother, Augustine Troxell; her three beautiful daughters, Michelle (David) Byers, Marlo Bell, and Melanie Arms; her grandchildren, Jenifer (Wesley) Perkins, Emilie (Bryan) Allen, Sarah (Quinn) Bell, Nicholas Arms; her great grandchildren, Kaili, Jaida, Wesley, Beylei, Everett, and Anderson; her sisters, Linda Banta and Susan (Buddy) See, as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who will all continue to live her legacy.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243) from 12:00pm – 8:00pm. There will be a prayer service beginning 4:00pm.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Norton Women's and Children's hospital for the dedicated care and attention for Margit. We will forever be grateful.
