Margie Lou Harris

Margie Harris, 94, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022. Margie was Valedictorian of her high school graduating class in 1946. She loved playing cards with her friends and would get together monthly to play. Above all, Margie was a dedicated homemaker and mother, who enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was born on October 17, 1928, in Georgetown, Indiana, to Walter and Alice (Roy) Oster. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Marvin E. Harris.

Margie is survived by her daughters, Donna Harris and Melanie Harris; sister-in-law, Emogene Greene; granddaughter, Alison (Sean) Smith; grandson, Wes (Sara) Neidiffer; granddaughter, Kaylee Montgomery; great-grandchildren, Bailey Smith, Riley Smith, and Jaxon Shriver; and many extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at Edwardsville United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.

The family requests that contributions in Margie's memory be made to Edwardsville United Methodist Church (4830 State Route 62, Georgetown, IN 47122).
