Margaret Wright

Margaret (Truitt) Wright, "Margo", "Snooks", 79, of New Albany, Indiana, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, December 31, 2023 with her family at her side. Margo was born on August 18, 1944 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Clifford and Mary (Beswick) Truitt. She graduated from the original St. Patrick's at 16th & West Market Streets in Louisville, Kentucky. She won a scholarship to Presentation Academy from which she graduated in 1963. She worked for the government under the H.E.W. program as a dental hygienist until they relocated to Nashville, Tennessee. She then worked for the Veterans Administration as an adjudicator until her retirement in 1999.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas & James Truitt; and nephew, Mikie Joe Truitt.

Margo is survived by her sister, Alice Truitt; brother, Michael Truitt; cousin, Rosemary Alvey; nieces, Julianna Hasche (Kirk), Andrea Truitt (Matt Drabek), Jennifer Hayes (Chris), and Allyson Beam (Jeremy); several great-nieces & nephews and great-great-nephews.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Monday, at St. John Paul II (2253 West St. Joe Rd, Sellersburg, IN 47172) with burial to follow at St. Louis Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Baptist Health Floyd and Southern Care Hospice for their professionalism, compassion and support in caring for Margo.
