Louisville

Margaret Vespe, a beloved matriarch and devoted soul, passed away peacefully in Crestwood, KY, on February 26, 2025, at the age of 94, surrounded by her cherished family. Born on September 10, 1930, in Corona New York, Margaret grew into a remarkable woman whose life was dedicated to her family and her faith.

Margaret’s journey was Defined by her unwavering love and commitment to those she held dear. She became a homemaker, expertly balancing the demands of a growing family with grace and affection. She took pride in nurturing her household, creating a warm and loving environment where memories flourished. Her greatest joy was watching her family grow, a testament to her nurturing spirit and the foundation of love built.

Margaret's education took root in New York, where she attended high school, but her true schooling in life came from her experiences as a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a compassionate grandmother. She was a loyal friend, always finding time to lend an ear or a helping hand. Her strong faith guided her through life's ups and downs, and she found solace within the community of her church, where she spent many joyful hours. Margaret had a passion for cooking, found joy in gardening, playing cards and enjoying the simple pleasures of life with her loved ones.

Margaret is survived by her adoring daughter, Margaret (William) Morrison; sons Robert (Maryrose) Vespe and Joseph (Laura) Vespe; granddaughters Christine (Michael) D'Addario, Joanne (Timothy) Kelly, Melanie, Michaela, and grandson Christian Morrison; great-grandchildren Noelle, Juliette, Suzanna, Riley, Tyler, Shayne, and Matteo. Each member of her family carries her memory, love, and the invaluable lessons she imparted.

She joins her beloved husband of 67 years, Matthew Vespe, who preceded her in death, as well as her parents, Maria and Giuseppe Giacomino, and sister Anna Giacomino. Each of these departures left a tender space in her heart, filled with memories shared and love rooted deep within.

Margaret's memory will be honored during a Memorial Gathering on March 9, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in East Louisville. A Mass celebrating her beautiful life will take place the following day, March 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Aloysius in Pewee Valley.

A visitation will be held at Nolan Funeral Home in Northport NY, with burial to follow at St. Charles Cemetery.
