Margaret "Margie" Louise Davis

June 6, 1932 — March 22, 2025

Clarksville, Indiana

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Margaret "Margie" Louise Davis, who left this world on March 22, 2025, in New Albany, Indiana, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 6, 1932, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, Margie lived a life rich in love and dedication, marked by her unwavering commitment to her family and community.

She spent over twenty years working for Kroger, where her work ethic and friendly demeanor made her a beloved figure among her colleagues and customers alike. Her legacy of kindness and service extended beyond her professional life and her ties to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Clarksville, Indiana. Margie’s faith guided her through life and shaped her interactions with everyone she met.

Margie attended Presentation Academy in Louisville, Kentucky. Throughout her life, she embraced many hobbies that brought her joy and fulfillment. Whether she was enjoying the great outdoors, creating beautiful pieces in ceramics and cross-stitch, or spending time bowling, traveling, swimming, and playing games, Margie approached each activity with enthusiasm and passion. She was also an avid fan of UK Basketball, never missing a chance to cheer on her team.

Above all, being there for her family was the most important thing to Margie. Her pride and joy radiated in every moment she spent with them-children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren alike. She is survived by her children, Charles "Chuck" (Pam) Davis, Jr., Robert "Bob" (Nan) Davis, Carol (Mark) McFarland, Stephen "Steve" (Karrie) Davis, James "Jim" (Patti) Davis, and Teresa "Terri" (Darrell) Davis; as well as her grandchildren, including, Christie, Charley (Dustin), Sarah (Matt), Kelly, Jon (Tori), Reece, Jeremy (Dani), Amber, Alexis, Colin (Casey), Becca (Ryan), Anna, Ryan, Sarah, Emily (Cody), Josh (Adrienne), and Erron. Margie's legacy continues with her numerous great-grandchildren, including Jacob, Emmie, Maya, Charlee, Logan, Cayden, Casen, Aniyah, Dassy, Esther, Avery, Mac, Evie, Sophia, Slone, Marly, and Judah, who will carry her spirit forward in their hearts. She also survives by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Margie reunites in eternal peace with her husband, Charles A. Davis, Sr., her daughter, Janet Vertrees, her beloved parents, Louis and Margaret Miller, and her brother, Jim Miller. Each of these individuals held a special place in her heart, and their memories will forever be cherished by her family.

As we gather to honor Margie’s remarkable life, we invite all who knew and loved her to join us for visitation and funeral services at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN.
