Laura Margaret (Booker) Harmon, 77, formerly of New Albany passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2011. Margaret was a former employee of the New Albany Box and Basket Company and was a member of First Capitol Christian Church in Corydon. She really enjoyed attending the Corydon Jamboree. Most of all, Margaret loved her family dearly and treasured the visits of family and friends.
Margaret was born on May 29, 1933 in Luttrell, Tennessee to the late Thomas and Stella (Greenlee) Booker. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Mervyn B. Harmon, Sr.; sisters, Judy Murphy, Bonnie Wright, and Frankie Renfro; and half sisters, Fern Dukes, Opal Worsham, Ruby Colson, Evelyn Hunley, and Jewel Onks.
She is survived by her son, Mervyn B. Harmon, Jr. and his wife, Nicki and daughters, Debbie Fultz and her husband, Kenny and Sheila Ehalt and her husband, Steve; sisters, Jean Dennie, Janet Haycox, Mary McDonald, Charlotte Pickett, Brenda Nichols, Faye Nelson, and Shirley Wiseheart; brother, Alan Booker; half sister, Iris Davis; grandchildren, Laura Harmon, Eric Fultz, David Harmon, Mike Fultz, Maegan Ehalt, and Chris Ehalt; and eight great grandchildren.
Her visitation will be 2 to 8 PM Thursday and 12 to 8 PM Friday, March 17 and 18, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150). Pastor Randy Kirk will officiate her Funeral Service at 10 AM Saturday, March 19, 2011 at First Capitol Christian Church (305 Oliver Street, Corydon, IN 47112-5381) with burial to follow at Kansas Cemetery in Fredericksburg, Indiana.
