Margaret Evelyn (Shine) Farnsley

Margaret Evelyn (Shine) Farnsley, 77, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. She enjoyed writing poetry, collecting angels, and hosting family gatherings. More than anything else in the world, Margaret loved her family and friends. She was active and always present at her grandchildren's, nieces', and nephews' sporting events and extracurricular activities. Margaret was also very fond of her pets, especially her dogs, Hattie, Toby, and the late Lily.

She was born on October 26, 1945, in Portland, Indiana. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Robert, Sr., and Christine (Budell) Shine; and siblings, Anna Thompson, Robert Shine, Jr., and Tom Green.

Margaret is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Larry "Ace" Farnsley; children, Kenny Farnsley (Meredith Needham) and Diana Foreman (David); sister, Janet Wagner (Pete); sister-in-law, Diana Green; grandchildren, Colton Farnsley, McKenzie Farnsley, and Maggie Foreman; nieces, Brittany Hunt (Chance), Alyssa Sandlin (Matt), and Danielle Brear (Daniel); and great-nieces and -nephews, Owen, Ben, Addy, Collin, Charli, and Zerek.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Monday after 9:00 a.m. Her funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Edwardsville Cemetery.
