Margaret Doerr, 93, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023.
She was born on July 25, 1929 in Buckner, Kentucky to the late William and Bessie (Barrnett) Eldridge. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Doerr, siblings, Amster Eldridge, Nancy Girdley, Adolf Eldridge, Kenneth Eldridge, Lucille Whitworth, Douglas Husband and Teddy Eldridge.
She was a member of Poplar Level Baptist Church for 50 years and was a foster parent and took care of numerous preschool children. She worked in the cafeteria a total of 28 years at Middletown Elementary School and Kammerer Middle School, she also enjoyed gardening, sewing and canning for her family.
Margaret is survived by her loving children, Betty Hester (Ernie), Thomas Randall Doerr, Janet Cook (Kenny), Carolyn Murphy (Jerry), grandchildren Tanya Marcum (Greg), Casey Ross (Josh), Jamie Mitchell (John), Melissa Doerr; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Donnie, Zoe, Mitchell, Bailey, Josie, Jameson and Jude.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
Visitation will also be on Monday, April 17, 2023 from 9:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East in Louisville, Kentucky.
The family requests that contributions in Margaret's memory be made to The Disabled Veterans of America.
