Mamie Taylor, age 84 of Louisville, departed this life on Tuesday, June 3, 2014. Mamie or "Granny" as her children and grandchildren called her was born on December 16, 1929, the only child to Ella and Will Hall.
Mamie worked as a Nurse's Aide at the Old General Hospital and Children's Hospital. She also worked for Little Sisters of the Poor and Fire Headquarters.
She met and married the love of her life, Albert Taylor on September 6, 1947. From this union six children were born. Mamie joined Cable Missionary Baptist Church in 1952.
Left to celebrate her life are her life partner, David Streater; two sons, Larry and Michael (Debra); four daughters, Terry Daniels (Dr. Tyrone), Darlene, Theresa and Stacy; step-daughter, Sharon Booker; 26 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life will be 1pm Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive with visitation from 10:30am until time of service. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens in Mt. Washington, Ky.
Memorials may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor.
