Mamie Elizabeth Combs

In loving memory of Mamie Elizabeth Combs, age 71 of Louisville, Kentucky was called home to be with her heavenly father on September 11, 2018. Mamie was born on February 8,1947 in Jefferson County to the late Charles Biggers, Sr. and Lucy Thornton Biggers. Mamie confessed her faith in Christ at an early age under the pastorship of Rev. Simon Maker at Taylortown A.M.E. Zion Church. She retired from St. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. Mamie was a dedicated grandmother and great-grandmother, who took pride in her family. She loved sewing, gospel music and t.v. westerns. She is proceeded in death by her husband David L. Combs, Sr.

Mamie is survived by her children, John Taylor, Jr,, Charles McAtee Jr. and Pamela Combs (Lamont); grandchildren, Katie Taylor, Ashleigh and Kourtney Trowell and William Bald; great-grandchildren, Jniyah and Jadan Potter, Chris (Kelly), Jada and Major Bell, Korey Trowell and Sariah Bald; five siblings, and a host of cousins, nephews and nieces. She will be greatly missed by all.

Visitation will be 10 am -12 pm on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Taylortown A.M.E. Zion Church, 10901 Ballardsville Road Louisville, Kentucky 40241. A celebration of Mamie's life will follow at 12pm at the church with the Rev. Erich V. Shumake officiating. Burial will follow in Cave Hill Cemetery.
