Mabel K. (Stratton) Hatfield, 91, of Louisville, passed away on June 30, 2012. A Baptist by faith, she was the life of every gathering and thoroughly enjoyed being around people. Mabel retired from General Electric after 21 years of service.
Mabel was born on May 28, 1921 in Shelby County, Kentucky to the late James and Lillian (Phillips) Stratton. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Hill; siblings, Lulie Yount, J.B., Thomas, Willie Stratton, Helen Moore, Verna Riddle; and grandson, Jonathan Monroe.
She is survived by her husband, Stanley Hatfield, Jr.; daughters, Shirley Cox (Roger) and Donna Wilkins (Bill); stepchildren, Judy Campos (Adrian), Stanley Hatfield, III (Darlene), and Darrell Hatfield; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren.
Her Visitation will be 4 to 8 PM Monday, July 2, 2012 and 11 AM to 1:30 PM on Tuesday at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, July 3 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
