Lynn Hundley, 61, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. Lynn fought a courageous battle with Glioblastoma, and she gave 'em hell. She may have been a tiny woman, but she was a mighty force. Lynn was diagnosed with GBM in May 2022. She faced this diagnosis bravely and, as a Christian, she said she knew she would be ok. Lynn wanted to fight for her family and bless them with more time.
Lynn grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, and later moved to Floyd County, Indiana, where she graduated from Floyd Central High School. She went on to graduate from The Indiana University Southeast School of Nursing (1988). While working in the critical care unit at University of Louisville Hospital, Lynn discovered a love for neuro nursing. She went on to become an educator at Baptist East and then the System Stroke Director at Norton Healthcare. She took the neuro field by storm and became a renowned expert in stroke care and education. Lynn was loved by her fellow nurses, her patients and their families, her co-workers, and colleagues. Lynn advocated for neuro patients with high standards for their care and served as a role model and teacher. She was always willing to take time to answer questions and share her knowledge. Lynn's kindness, humble demeanor, tenacity, and genuine love for people not only saved lives through her work, but touched, inspired, and changed lives.
At home, though, Lynn was just Mom, Mimi, or Grammie. Lynn married the love of her life, Charles Hundley, on July 3, 1982. They celebrated 40 years of marriage this past summer. Together, they built a perfect life for each other. They have two children, Amber Tanner (Brian Tanner) and Charlie Hundley (Haley Broughton). Lynn was a loving wife and a devoted mother. Lynn was a proud grandmother of six sweet grandbabies, Levi, Emory, Austin, Owen, Brinlea, and Bentlea. She was a caring sister, aunt, and niece.
Lynn is survived by her loving husband, Charles; their children and grandchildren; her brother, Mike Neese; and her aunt, Becky. She is preceded in death by her parents, Judith Marie Neese (Bowles) and Doyle Dean Neese.
There will be a celebration of life open house for Lynn at her home in Floyds Knobs, Indiana, on Saturday, November 19, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, November, 20, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
