Lynn Elizabeth Bennett, 60, of Louisville, Kentucky peacefully transitioned from this life on February 17th, 2023.
She was born August 27th, 1962 to Robert Watson Sir and Mable Sechrest. Lynn accepted Christ at a young age at First Baptist Church of Anchorage and was a member for over 30 years. Lynn later joined First Baptist Church of Pewee Valley where she was a diligent member of the choir, the Woman's ministry, and a Youth Leader.
Lynn attended Eastern High school and graduated in June of 1982. She was a part of the Eastern High School Marching band and played the flute and piccolo. Lynn attended Eastern Kentucky University in 1982 to 1984 and majored in Social Work. She received special training in the areas of Social Work, Emergency Medical Services, and Human Relations. She was also a part of the EKU Gospel choir. Lynn was employed at the R. L. Watson Construction Company as a receptionist in 1985 and later become the activities coordinator at The King's Daughters and Sons Home in 1990. In 1987 Lynn became a Family Support Worker at Family and Children's place where she worked for 17 years. Lynn had a strong attraction for people and helping others when needed. Lynn enjoyed assisting families and individuals in her profession.
Lynn had many things that brought joy to her life, the greatest of all being her faith in the Lord. She had a spirit of service, always knowing and encouraging others that God will make a way. Lynn loved traveling, relaxing at the beach, singing, spending time with family, and hanging out with her dog Harmony Olivia.
She is survived by her loving devoted husband of 35 years, Marvin Bennett Sr; two children; Marvin Bennett Jr and Octavia Bennett; sisters Belinda Jumper (Eddie Jumper) and Marlene Buckner (James Buckner). Lynn is preceded in death by Robert L Watson Jr (Margaret Watson), as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Lynn valued family and her memory will carry on through loved ones.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm on Friday, February 24, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Anchorage (11500 LaGrange Road Louisville, KY 40223) with burial to follow at Berrytown Cemetery.
