Lyndell "Lyn" Faye Allen

Our beautiful mother Lyn Allen passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Her journey now takes her to spend eternity with our heavenly God with whom she has had an amazing relationship with. Our family has been blessed to have had such an amazingly strong woman as our spiritual guide. We will miss her presence and love until we meet again.

Lyn was born on May 25, 1942 in Bowling Green Kentucky to the late E. Wendell, Sr and Vivian Allen.  She was raised in Bowling Green Kentucky but spent the rest of her years raising her family in Louisville. Lyn graduated from the University of Louisville with a BA in Biology. She taught elementary school in Maryland and preschool at HMCD locally. She also worked as a dental office administrator at First Choice Dental Center for several years.

Lyn loved the Lord and her Family greatly. She loved playing the piano, gardening (botany), sewing, animals and reading. In addition to her parents, Lyn was preceded in death by Wendell Sr.'s wife, Susan; and her brother, Dale.

Lyn is survived by her children, daughter, Holly Votteler-Coomer (Steven); grandchildren, Noah Allen, Ericka Coomer and Melissa Coomer; son,Trevor Votteler (Ginny); grandchildren, Jordan Prudhomme (Justin) and Hunter Votteler (Lauren); daughter, Jennifer Smith; grandchildren, Kirstin Brooke Smith, and Andrew Smith; sister, Kim Phelps (Steve); and brother ,Wendell Allen Jr. as well as by nine amazing great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her good friend of many years John Dobbins. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 9:30 am until 12:00 pm. Funeral services will be @ 12:00pm, all at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY, 40243. Burial will follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.
