Lynda Eline, age 79 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024 peacefully at her home.
Lynda was born on March 26, 1944, In Washington, D.C. to the late Smiley and Mary Griesemer. She was a graduate of Seacrest High School in Delray Beach, Florida and attended University of South Florida and Palm Beach Junior College. She married her late husband of 52 years, Sidney W. Eline Jr, on April 23rd, 1965 in Delray Beach, Florida. They moved up to Louisville, KY and together, they had three children: Teresa, Sidney, and Smiley.
Lynda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Most importantly, she loved the Lord, which was reflected in all areas of her life. She spent many years working and volunteering at BsideU for life, where she was a mentor and counselor. Lynda was a dedicated member at Southeast Christian Church, where she was involved in Bible Studies, and volunteered with her husband, Sidney, in the children's ministry. They also had a special place in their hearts and home for Native American children and loved supporting the NAOMI house in Jack Rabbit, Arizona.
She loved her family and appreciated when they could all be together. She would always host Christmas morning brunch and organize family dinners. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was an integral part in each of their lives. She had a great sense of humor and would never miss an opportunity to make others laugh. Most of all, she loved traveling with her late husband, Sidney. They were best friends, and their love for each other was evident to everyone around them.
Her empathy and compassion for others was felt and seen by so many. She was a great woman of faith, a great listener, intentional, she loved deeply, and she was a light to everyone who met her. She will be leaving behind a legacy that is unmeasurable.
Lynda is survived by her children, Teresa Eline, Sidney W. Eline III (Kelli), Smiley M. Eline (Sara); grandchildren, Meagan Eline, Alec Eline (Alexis), Lily Eline, Ethan Eline, and Shalyn Eline; great -grandchildren, Virginia Eline; and many friends.
A gathering to celebrate Lynda's life will be 3pm to 6pm on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243, with an opportunity the last half hour for remembrances.
