Lucy Ann Thornton

Lucy Ann Thornton was born to William N Thornton and Alberta Beasley Thornton on July 28, 1941, third child of seven. At a young age she received Christ at Pilgrim Baptist Church, and she loved her church. Lucy Ann attended Lincoln Institute. Around that time, had two children. She went on to marry Robert C Reves and moved to New York City, having four additional children there, then two more children when she returned back to Louisville, Kentucky.
Lucy Ann was a loving mother of eight, always smiling with a very pleasant sense of humor. She carried the loving names of Mom, Granny Lucy, Lucy Ann, Sister, Lucianne, LeoLucy, and Mommy Lucy.
Lucy Ann was employed with Phillip Morris, Brown and Williamson, American Standard, and later retired from Reynolds Aluminium (ALCOA). In her spare time she loved to travel, play games, and enjoyed shopping. She had two homes: one in Louisville, Kentucky, and one in Tampa, Florida. She travelled the world. Sadly all of these came to an end experiences and blessings came to an end on August 20, 2022 while surrounded by her family including grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She is now with her Father above.
Lucy is preceded by her husband, Robert C. Reves; parents, William N Thornton; her brother, Leon Thronton, and sister Doris Jean Thornton. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her eight children, Bertha Reves Sosi, Robert Reves Jr., Annette Reves, Janette (David) Rogers, Robin Hinderson, Twilia Young, Regina Thornton, and Jerome Thornton, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and other relatives who will miss her very much.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church (600 Bellewood Rd, Louisville, KY 40223) from 11:00am - 1:00pm with a service to begin at 1:00pm. Lucy's final resting place will be at Berrytown Cemetery (12606 Berrytown Rd, Louisville, KY 40223).
