Louise (Ritchie) Harney Duke, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2011. Louise was a member of Parkway Southern Baptist Church in New Albany and the Ohio Valley Blind Association through Rauch Industries. She was a former employee of the Seinshimer Company in New Albany and former owner of Duke's Bait Shop at Deam's Lake. She enjoyed crafts of all kinds and visiting flea markets.
Louise was born on September 20, 1919 in Carlisle, Kentucky to the late Willie and Fanny C. (Herrington) Ritchie. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Luther Harney and Walter Duke; daughters, Diana Jo Klingsmith and Nora and Dora Harney; sister, Betty Jo Glass; and brothers, Willie and Cray Lee Ritchie.
She is survived by her daughter, Geneva Tindle Goodman; her son, Donnal R. "Bud" Harney and his wife, Wanda, all of New Albany; sister, Dorothy Steel of Paris, Kentucky; 15 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; and 26 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 PM on Wednesday, January 26 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150) and from 9 AM to 1 PM on Thursday, January 27. Her Funeral Service will be at 1 PM on Thursday in the Paul F. Kraft, Sr. Memorial Chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
