Louise "Thelma" (Murphy) Caudill, 86, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday morning, October 3, 2010. She was a former employee of Rolling Hills Nursing Home in New Albany, Indiana, the Charlestown Ammunition Plant, and the old Frisch's on Spring Street. She was also a very active member of The Church of God in Sellersburg. Thelma was a hard worker, always giving to others.
She was born on September 7, 1924 to the late Edward and Bertha (Mair) Murphy in New Albany. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Everett Jordan and Otis Caudill; and son, Ron Jordan.
She is survived by her loving children, William E. "Bill" Jordan and his wife, Joyce, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Shirley A. Nunley and her husband, Spencer, of New Albany, Everett P. Jordan and his wife, Sheila, of Salem, Indiana, and Mary Elizabeth Asher of New Albany; sisters, Mary Mahon and her husband, Al, of Sellersburg, and Bertha "Boots" Dietrick of New Albany; 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Her visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 from 2 PM to 8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southern Indiana Chapel (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Thelma's Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, October 6 in the Paul F. Kraft, Sr. Memorial Chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
