Louis Thomas Vance

Louis Thomas Vance, 81, of Crestwood, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022.

He was born in April of1941 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Jefferson Thomas and Helen (Lohmeyer) Vance.

Louis graduated from Atherton High School in 1959, he then moved to Chicago, IL and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts Degree from the Concordia Teachers College in Chicago in 1964.

Louis married his high school sweetheart Bonnie Hacker. Louis and Bonnie then moved back to Kentucky in 1971 where he worked as a teacher until he purchased a tax franchise and prepared income taxes until he retired.

Louis is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Bonnie Vance, daughters, Beth Sammet, Amy Jolley, grandson, Benjamin Vance Sammet, brother, James Vance and sister, Judith Borgfield.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, September 16, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions East Louisville, (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).

Visitation will also be from 9:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the funeral home with a private entombment to take place on Monday, September 19, 2022 at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville, Kentucky.

The family requests that contributions in Louis's memory be made to WHAS Crusade for Children.
