Loren Charley

Loren Eugene "Buster" Charley, 85, of New Albany passed away on Friday, March 11, 2011. He was born on January 24, 1926 to the late Crawford Martin & Nell (Love) Charley. Buster was proud of serving his country in the United States Navy during World War II and Korea. He was united in marriage for nearly 47 years to Betty Jean (Goldman) Charley, until her death in August of 1996. He owned and operated Charley's Barbershop from 1954-1991.

Buster is survived by his daughter, Jerry McCain of New Albany; brother, Lewis Charley (Kay) of Memphis, IN; and his grandson, George "Hank" Carley IV of Fischers, IN. He is preceded in death by his wife; parents; & brothers & sisters.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM on Monday, March 14 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150). His Funeral Service will be at 1 PM on Tuesday, March 15 in the Paul F. Kraft Sr. Memorial Chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at German Ridge Cemetery in Leopold, Indiana.
