Lola Lee (Brunner) Cissell, 88, of Sellersburg, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 in Versailles, KY. Lola was born on November 15, 1930 in Louisville, KY to the late Chester and Ruth (Kipp) Brunner. Lola was married to the love of her life, Charles (Charlie) Cissell, who passed eight years ago Christmas morning. She has also lost two sisters, Ruth Downing and LaVerne Costello, and two brothers, Forrest Brunner and Vernon Brunner, and her stepson, Randy Cissell.
Lola is survived by her children, Janet James (John), Janice Isaacs (David), Kipp Downing (Sue) and Kevin Downing (Beth), 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her younger brother, Charles Brunner.
Lola and Charlie Cissell were owners of Cissell's Meat Market which was located in Louisville, KY and then in Clarksville, IN. Lola was a great cook and loved spending time cooking for neighbors and friends. She will be missed greatly.
Following Lola's wishes, cremation was chosen, and there will not be any visitation or funeral. A private gathering of family will take place sometime after the New Year.
