Lois Matilda Poynter

Lois Matilda "Tillie" Poynter, 87, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022. Lois had an unconditional love for her four boys. She had a passion for cooking and was gifted in country cooking; everyone that went to the Poynter house knew they were getting a feast. Lois loved her flowers and enjoyed gardening and would grow anywhere she could find a spot. She loved bargain shopping with her family and finding great deals. She stood on her strong faith which sustained her when she needed it the most. She had a strong testimony of prayer. Lois will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

She was born on August 26, 1934 in Corbin, Kentucky to Arthur and Pherbia (Faulkner) Bingham. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dean Poynter; son, Wyler Poynter; grandson, Joshua Poynter; and her brothers, James Bingham and Leland Bingham.

Lois is survived by her loving family, sons, Dallas (Phyllis) Poynter, James (Judy) Poynter, Art Poynter; grandchildren, Chad Poynter, Kelly (Tannis) Poynter, Miranda (Ben) Poynter; great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Poynter; sister, Georgie Hodge; brother, Arthur (Charlene) Bingham, Jr.; sister-in-law, Marlene Bingham; sister-in-law, Pat Bingham; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.

Visitation will be on Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy).
