Lois May Blankenship, 88, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024. Lois enjoyed painting, sewing, embroidery, quilting, reading the bible, watching college basketball, and most importantly spending time with her great granddaughter "Birdie".
She was born on May 21, 1935 in Corydon, Indiana to the late Paul and Kathleen (Flanigan) Hedges. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Billie Dean Blankenship; son, Tony Blankenship; two brothers, Jim and Bill Hedges; and sister, Sue Hedges.
Lois is survived by her loving children, Teresa Lewis and Terry (Cindy) Blankenship; two granddaughters, Danielle Blankenship and Courtney Lewis; great granddaughter, Collins "Birdie" Lewis; sister, Mary Hedges; best friend, Romona Esparza; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
It was Lois's wishes to be cremated with no services. Cremations was entrusted to Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana).
