Lloyd Timothy "Tim" Preston, 63, of Sellersburg, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at the University of Louisville Hospital. He was a disabled Vietnam Veteran and a life member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America. Tim was raised Methodist but called Dixie Valley Church of God his home.
Tim was born on November 22, 1947 in Igloo, South Dakota on a military base to the late Francis C. and Ina O. (Sadler) Preston. He was also preceded in death by his son, Dale Higdon and father-in-law, Arthur Coyle, Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sandie (Coyle) Preston of Sellersburg; son, Ray Higdon and his wife, Crystal, of Sellersburg; siblings, Rick Preston and his wife, Carol, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Sharon Preston of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Mike Preston and his wife, Marie, of New Albany, Indiana; grandchildren, Brianna, Dharian and Davin; mother-in-law, Ina Coyle; brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
Tim had no enemies. He loved God, his family and country. He had a heart of gold and knew how to forgive and love.
His memorial visitation will be from 11 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, January 7, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southern Indiana Chapel (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). Tim's Memorial Service will be 1:00 PM on Friday, January 7 at Newcomer Funeral Home with private burial to follow in the New Albany National Cemetery with military honors.
