Lisa Harwell Whidden, born February 22, 1962 in Frederick, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Lisa was 60 years old. Lisa was a loving and devoted mother to her beautiful daughter, Mallory and her fur babies, Macy and Allistar and her grand dog, Charlie. She was also a beloved daughter, devoted sister to her three siblings and, treasured friend to many.
Lisa was a former store manager for A Taste of Kentucky. She had the privilege and pleasure of opening and managing a new location in downtown Louisville in the AEGON Centre, where she took the opportunity to serve as an ambassador for Louisville to thousands of tourists. Lisa was a welcoming face to many out of town visitors, tourists and guests as well as many downtown workers. Prior to joining A Taste of Kentucky she had worked as a Graphic Designer for over twenty five years in the Louisville area and in South Florida.
Lisa began her career as a Graphic Designer with Globe Communications in South Florida where she worked for thirteen years and, also earned her degree in Graphic Design. Following a divorce, she moved with her young daughter, back to her home in Louisville, Kentucky where she resumed her career in Graphic Design and worked as a Designer in manufacturing and package design for companies in Southern Indiana and in Kentucky.
Lisa's priority was always her family. Family was very important to her. Lisa enjoyed the outdoors and her favorite place was the beach and she had a tremendous love for animals.
Lisa is preceded in death by her father, E. Charles Rolwing, Jr., who passed in 2008.
Lisa is survived by her beloved daughter, Mallory Harwell Whidden of Louisville, Kentucky; her mother, Dola Harwell (Watson) Rolwing also of Louisville; three siblings, E. Charles Rolwing, III (Anne) of Crete, Illinois, Julie Ann Rolwing of Louisville, Kentucky, Bradley Sanders Rolwing of Fernandina Beach, Florida; one niece and one nephew, Ashley Hart (Rolwing) Hogan of West Palm Beach, Florida and Bradley Sanders Rolwing, Jr. of St. Augustine, Florida; and two great nieces, Riley Hart Hogan and Ella Hudson Hogan of West Palm Beach, Florida.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 20, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions, East Louisville (235 Juneau Drive). A service to celebrate Lisa's life will follow at 1:00 p.m. that day at the funeral home.
