It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lisa Diane Rodriguez, a cherished soul who graced our lives for 48 years. Lisa departed this world on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Born on November 6, 1976, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Virgil Smith and Doris Cockrell, Lisa's journey in life was one full of love and devotion. She reunites now with her dear parents and her sister, Carolyn Jones, in eternal peace.

Lisa’s spirit lives on through her adoring children—Paula M.D. Gomez, Tirso A. Rodriquez, Jr., and Octavio E. Rodriguez—as well as her grandchildren, Felix, Yostin, Selena, and Miguel, who filled her heart with immense joy. She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters, Debbie (Darrell) Green and Patty Graves, her brothers, Gary Smith, Dale Smith, and Darrell Lee Smith, and her dear friend, Victoria Newton, alongside an extended family and many friends whose lives she touched.

Lisa was the epitome of unconditional love and support—a mother and grandmother whose listening ear was always there to comfort and guide, free of judgment. Her heart of gold knew no bounds; she eagerly uplifted those around her and inspired joy wherever she went. With a personality that could illuminate even the darkest of rooms, Lisa brought warmth and laughter into the lives of anyone fortunate enough to know her.

In her leisure time, Lisa found peace by the ocean, delighting in the gentle waves and the thrill of discovering new places. Her adventurous spirit radiated through every horizon she explored.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lisa’s remarkable life during a visitation from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy). A heartfelt memorial honoring her legacy will begin at 2:00 PM the same day.
