Linda Lee (Klusmeier) Zimmerman, 68, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 30, 2017. She retired from Bell South after 32 years of service and went on to work at Horseshoe Casino for over 15 years. Linda was a 1967 graduate of Providence High School and was a member of a long-time BUNCO group. She enjoyed drinking coffee and having conversations with others. Linda never met a stranger and was a selfless mother and grandmother.
She was born on August 25, 1949, in New Albany to the late Leroy and Frances (Amacher) Klusmeier. Linda is survived by her husband, Steve Zimmerman; daughters, Cari and Jordan Zimmerman; stepdaughter, Amy Banet (Keith); siblings, Leroy "Buck" Klusmeier (Debee), Gene Klusmeier, Mary Ann Thomas (Steve), and Denny Ray Klusmeier (Tearesa); grandchildren, Grace, Alex, Ethan, Aiden, Allie, Axel, and Ashlyn; 11 nieces and nephews; and close friend, Donald "Wayne" Duke.
Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Friday after 9:00 a.m. Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.
