Linda Kay Purcell, born on August 30, 1948, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories. A dedicated nurse, Linda served her community with unwavering commitment throughout her brilliant 41-year career in healthcare. Her compassion and gentle nature were felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Linda embraced life with a strong faith in God, finding solace and inspiration within the pages of the Bible, which she loved to read. She was a bright light in the lives of those around her, always ready to share her infectious spirit and laughter. One of the many joys of her life was the Christmas season. Each year, the anticipation would bubble up within her, and she would delightfully tell her husband, “Buckle up, the Christmas movies are on!” The air would fill with warmth and happiness as they decorated, sharing in the magic of the holidays together. Her favorite tune, “I Want a Hippopotamus For Christmas,” would fill the home, where her joyous laughter echoed alongside the heartfelt melodies.
Linda’s love for life was evident in her simple pleasures. Whether she was sewing and crocheting beautiful creations or enjoying a night out at the theatre with her beloved daughter, Teresa Carroll.
Linda’s love extended beyond her family, as she cherished her loyal canine companion, Princess, who stood by her side through every high and low.
She grieved the loss of her husband, James Purcell, her father, James Prince, her mother, Flossie Vosburgh, as well as her son, Tracy Carroll; and siblings, Larry Prince, Troy Prince, and Tommy Prince. She is survived by her sister, Eleanor Prince.
As we reflect on Linda's life, we remember her strength, the warmth of her heart, and the countless ways she touched the lives of those around her. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy rooted in faith, kindness, and a passion for life's simple joys. May her spirit continue to shine brightly in our hearts forever.
